Welcome to the Hospice Care Association of Southern Tasmania Inc. website.

The Hospice Care Association of Southern Tasmania Inc is a volunteer organisation providing support to help people living with life limiting illness, and their carers and families, in Southern Tasmania.

We have a firm commitment to providing clients with the best possible support. This is achieved through careful screening and training of volunteers, and maintenance of skills through a programme of ongoing support and education.

The Association is managed by a voluntary committee who are elected at an AGM in September each year.  A full time Coordinator is employed to select, train and supervise volunteers, receive and assess referrals for care, meet with clients, and liaise with other services and agencies.  A part-time office manager maintains financial and statistical records and other administrative tasks.

Hospice receives a grant from the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services, which meets the majority of costs.  We also rely on fund-raising efforts and individual donations to improve and expand our services.
